Welcome to the Houghton Lake Area Historical Society Web Page. We are proud of our Village and our Playhouse. These 13 Historical Building have been lovingly re-stored or built to reflect life in a typical Logging Village of Northern Michigan in the Late 1800's.
The Village is located at 1701 W. Houghton Lake Drive (M-55) in Prudenville, Michigan (directions are on the bottom of this page)
The Village is open every Friday and Saturday in June, July and August from 12-4
Special Village Days Event First Weekend in August

JOIN US FOR A WEEKLY FARMER'S EACH FRIDAY STARTING IN MAY IN FRONT OF OUR PLAYHOUSE

We are just a short distance from any place in Michigan's Lower Peninsula. Our wonderful Historical Village can be reached easily from I-75 or I-127
From I-75 Get off at exit 227 and go west on M-55 for about 5 Miles the Village and the Playhouse are on your left right next to the Chamber of Commerce Building
From 1-127 exit onM-55 ( Houghton Lake Exit) and go East for about 6 miles. The Historical Village is on your right just past Wal-Marts.
